This week we went on a scavenger hunt, lots of fun! She did not want to go inside.
We also did a little abstract painting with a rock she found on her scavenger hunt.
I highly recommend abstract painting there is no right or wrong and a child can truly express their creativity. It is also a great way to start a conversation with your child.
I asked my daughter…
“What does this picture remind you of?”
“What colors did you choose?”
“What do you see in this picture?”
Her beautiful imagination did not disappoint, I heard the picture was like Elsa from Frozen, the colors are pretty, and they are my favorite.
Use watercolors, fingers, paint brushes, water, even rocks, and let them fling, splatter, drizzle, stamp, a creative masterpiece.
Continuing with creativity we made Jell-O playdough with a recipe I found on Pinterest.
I enjoyed watching her mix, pour and stir all the ingredients. And it smelled wonderful! However, while she was playing with it, she ran into the room I was in, grabbed my hand and told me “ANTS!”
I immediately went into a full out cleaning spree and unfortunately had to toss the dough.
Not sure if I would recommend this one… The recipe said Jell-O maybe we should have tried sugar-free? I wonder if that would have made a difference.
Here is the link to the recipe.
Let me know if you try it? If you see ants or if you modified a few things? Or if you have a better recipe please let me know.
