I knew parenting would be hard work but OH MY GOSH!!! Some days I think what have I gotten myself into?!!! Do not get me wrong, my precious little girl is my world but… I just want to send her on holidays sometimes.
Patience really is a virtue.
The struggle with a toddler is real! Simple things like brushing hair, eating food, or putting on clothes can turn into an all- out war where it feels like it is you against them. Well at least that has been my experience can any moms reading this relate?
She can be the sweetest little girl one minute and next the most annoying. However, I know sometimes I am triggered because I am exhausted and I try to remember a lot of the things that I consider annoying or struggles, are her just being the spirited, ball of energy she is.
That is why it is really important for us to exercise patience. Get rest, don’t take things personally, keep an open perspective and most importantly keep the Lord involved. I can’t tell you how many times in a day I call on Jesus for help and guidance.
Mommies strengthen those patience muscles, take a deep breath, rest, take care of yourself and remember God is always right there with you.
I wonder if this is how He feels when we whine and don’t listen…
Please help me and the mothers, as well as fathers, reading this with patience. I ask that You give us the strength, and energy it takes in raising our children. That you remove anger, resentment, impatience and renew in us peace, love, understanding and forgiveness. Yes Lord help us to have gentler spirits towards our Children and show us when we do need to discipline them.
You see everything and know our frustrations, You are the only one that can restore our spirits.
Thank you, Father, for your loving grace, more of You and less of us.
In Jesus Name,
